What Does a Chiropractic Adjustment Feel Like?
Our adjusting techniques are gentle and precise. Please feel free to talk with us about this; we are able to demonstrate how we make an adjustment so that you can see what it is like before beginning care (the demonstration is not done on your spine). Adjustments are made with the patient lying on a cushioned bench. The chiropractor's hands are on the spine and make a very quick and gentle pressure that allows the subluxated vertebra to release and reposition itself to an aligned position. A substantial part of our practice is children; they are not put off at all by care. In fact, very young children are generally very eager to visit the office and be checked. We mention this as evidence of the comfort of care.
We do not use adjusting techniques that twist the spine or neck.
The chiropractor will learn everything necessary about a spine before beginning care. Adjusting techniques are adapted for the person and any unusual spinal condition. If we cannot safely deliver care, we will not accept a person as a patient.
